how I see; what I see
A good photographer will look at light, shadow, pattern, texture, shape, colour, symmetry. This is how good photographs are made. Oh sure, there's always that lucky, once-in-a-lifetime shot. It can happen. I've done it. But the key is, can that photograph be repeated? Usually not. A knowledgeable photographer will know what film speed, f/stop and focal length was used.
There's an old adage in photography: always take notes!

I have know Cory for 13 years. Matter of fact there is a picture of me in the Portrait section of his wbsite. I ahve always been amazed at what Cory can visualize.
As a sketch artist I hold in HIGH regrd the quality of his Black and white photos. Too many opf todays photographers rely to heavily on color to portray a mood. Cory has a unique and specialized eye whwn it come to Black and white film. A VERY unforgiving medium at best. One must be able not onlt to visualize the play of light and shadow, but the angle in which to create a mood. Such as can be found in his pic of the burnt stroller.
His vision expands from the simply mundane to the casul and then to the macabre, each photo DEMANDS a reaction from the viewer. Cory's work is visceral and elegant.
