Photography, for me, is a means of visual expression - my creative outlet.  I photograph to express an emotion, a feeling, a moment in time.  I see what words cannot describe.

I will wander with a camera in hand and go wherever the winds guide me.  There is a feeling of Zen, a detachment from reality, when I am in the "zone".  I have no thoughts; in this way I am open to various encounters.  When I "go with the flow" I have the most wonderful, enlightening experiences.

I have the most grand adventures by letting go of control, by never knowing what is going to happen.  Therein lies the excitement of it all.  I know things are going to happen when I wander.  I know.  I also don't know.

The Secret to Photography, pt.1

- the more I look, the more I see.  Some people have a natural ability to see.  This is the primary key to photography.

The Secret to Photography, pt.2

- the other half of the secret is understanding how to create a good photo - the technical aspects.  This goes back to knowing how to see.

Both of these points go hand in hand.  This is the yin and yang of photography

When I see an image, I am already calculating angles, aperture, composition, depth of field, focus, light, and speed.  So I see not just the image, but I see the final image.
